Igor Plischke (*1985 in Bishkek) graduated in 2011 from the University of Stuttgart with a Bachelor of Arts in Literary, Theatre, and Political Studies. His directorial debut IMPULS (starring Frederick Lau) premiered at the Max Ophüls Film Festival in 2014. This was followed by commercials, music videos, and the award-winning short film “DIE VERWANDLUNG, which was nominated, among others, for the First Steps Award. Marco Kreuzpaintner served as executive producer on both projects.
His documentary THE TALENTED MR. F. (2025), a commissioned production by MDR, ARD Kultur, BR, RBB, and HR, with Roland Emmerich as executive producer and internationally distributed by TrustNordisk, won the Grimme Award in 2026.
Igor is currently preparing his feature film debut: an adaptation of Édouard Louis’ IM HERZEN DER GEWALT (screenplay by Oliver Ziegenbalg), which is scheduled for release in 2027 by DCM.
