Freya Herrmann is a Berlin-based scriptwriter and costume designer.
After studying Scenic Arts at the University of Hildesheim and the Iceland University of the Arts, Herrmann began working in costume design, creating looks for productions such as DRUCK, SCHWARZE FRÜCHTE, MARZAHN MON AMOUR, and DOPPELHAUSHÄLFTE, where she also started working as a writer. She is currently developing various series formats. Herrmann`s interest in costume is, above all, anthropological.
Since 2020, she has been producing the podcast Fashion the Gaze together with Vera Klocke, exploring the politics of representation and staging.
